1940s inspired Land Girl Dolly Brooch

A modern twist on a 1940s make do and mend idea when clothing was scarce and jewellery was expensive many women turned to homemade fripperies, button necklaces , electrical wire brooches etc and using odds and end of fabrics to make jewellery. My Dolly brooches are based on a pattern from a 1940s magazine showing you how to cheer up your outfit with a “Pin on Girl” using fabric and wool scraps to make a pretty girl for your lapel ! This Dolly land Girl brooch has a Ditsy fabric head scarf with a Ribbon and vintage button neck tie she has an embroidered face and needle felted hair , on the back she has a safety catch brooch pin to keep her secure
